Beware the Clown
A big part of changing the game is being able to recognize authentic people from inauthentic ones. It seems to me that the authentic ones are becoming quite the minority. Be it because of social media, narcissism or both, it almost has become acceptable behavior to use people if you are doing it under the guise of business.
So often these people pretend to be mentors and freely offer advice based on their “experience.” But in fact, the only advice they offer is what will benefit them the most. I have written before about manipulative people and how they can affect your evolution.
The following lyrics are another attempt to help others see through all those “clowns” out there masking themselves and pretending to be something they’re not.
Instead of being happy, they are miserable people who do not bring joy but instead bring misery when others join their circus.
Beware the clown
You know the type
Pretending to never wear a frown
Yet it’s all hype
Beware the clown
Wanting to bring you into their circus
Turning your thinking upside down
Creating havoc; causing a ruckus
Beware the clown
Don’t let them reel you in
They’ll only bring you down
While playing pretend
Beware the clown
Their words and love bombs
Empty praise all around
Preaching morality; citing psalms
Beware the clown
Willing to say anything to pull you in
Professing loyalty while treating you like a hound
Faking trust, pretending to be a friend
Beware the clown
And their whirlwind effect
Leaves your head spinning round
Blaming you for your reaction to their disrespect
Beware the clown
Never thinking they’re wrong
Continuing to lie regardless of facts found
Get away; don’t wait too long
Beware the clown
Recognize these kind of folk
Dishonesty is their sound
They’re a complete joke
Beware the clown
Too much, too soon
Overstepping boundaries
Respect yourself–get away from this goon
Beware the clown
Full of fake promises
Moving goalposts; never to be pinned down
Narcissistic; so damn pompous
Beware the clown
Liars, looking to sue
Patently absurd threats abound
Regardless of what you did or didn’t do
Beware the clown
Do what you must
Trust your intuition–not their sound
Don’t ever join their circus!
