A Blessing Experiment
In the book The Co-Creation Handbook: A Shamanic Guide to Manifesting a Better World and a More Joyful Life, the author examines an experiment that signifies how important attitudes, thoughts, and vibrations are on the world around us.
The experiment had students place a bean seed in four different cups. In the first cup, they were to stand in front of it and think good thoughts.
In the second cup, they were to say, “I want you to be at least 18 inches tall and produce thirty beans before you are finished.”
For the third cup, they were to insult it by saying, “You are stupid and worthless.”
And for the fourth cup, they were to say “God/Universe bless this bean.”
At the end of the semester, the second cup, the one with the specific expectations, did the worst.
The insulted beans and the good thoughts cups (one and three) did about the same. But the blessed fourth cup was about three times bigger than any of the others.
The conclusion was that there is power in sending blessings out into the world, and the least effective thoughts you can send out are those that try to manipulate something for a specific outcome. Everything must be free enough to develop on its own.
It’s game-changing to see things and bless them as they are.
